Amyale also developed Wasta, an original drama series set among Dubai’s South Asian workforce, with SK Global and Ivanhoe Pictures, the companies behind Crazy Rich Asians and the International Emmy–winning Delhi Crime.

Amyale is currently producing the feature Sonata, originally developed with Viola Davis’ JuVee Productions.

About the Founder

Amyale was founded by filmmaker Manaal Khan. Raised in the Middle East by South Asian parents, Manaal attended UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. Along with directing several commercials, music videos and branded content, Manaal has also written and directed work including “Winners,” starring Matt Rife, for the Amazon Prime anthology After Masks, and a short for Eli Roth’s Crypt TV, where the horror slate she produced earned a nod from The Wall Street Journal. Ryan Murphy’s Half Initiative selected her as a directing mentee on Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star.

She co-wrote the horror feature Model House, released in theaters by Shout! Studios, and her screenplays include an adaptation of My Hands Came Away Red for Justin Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios.

Her producing credits span independent features including Actors Anonymous with Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg, The Institute with Pamela Anderson and Josh Duhamel, Tenn with Vincent D’Onofrio and Camp with Emmy nominee Joey King, alongside documentary work including a film on the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy for Al Jazeera.
